I work with individuals and couples who are going through difficult times, experiencing conflict in their relationship, or feeling stuck and unsure about how to handle the issues in their lives.

My therapy approach is not a one-size-fits-all method. Instead, I alter my approach to my clients’ unique and individual needs. This also involves a mix of empathy, compassion, humor, support and practical solutions.
In session, we will pay special attention to how language is used and the different narratives you hold about yourself, working to separate what you want for your life versus what others may want or expect of you.

In sessions, we will examine how your symptoms may be connected to the past, including any previous traumas and your role in your family of origin. I may use interpretation to examine what lies under the surface of your presenting problems.
Discuss what your goals are in therapy and what you have done thus far to achieve those goals. We will complete an assessment to get a baseline of your functioning and work together on creating treatment goals and revisit them until closure.

I love to incorporate non-traditional counseling techniques such as breathing techniques, food assessment, sleep assessments, etc. My counseling style is warm and interactive. I believe in treating anyone with respect, sensitivity, and compassion.
My clients can discuss anything that they feel comfortable discussing. My hope is that I can help you heal from your trauma, help gain more clarity and hopefully change your life for the better so that you can reach your goals.

I would love the opportunity to support you and guide you along your journey. The most important piece between the client and therapist is the clinical rapport. I view psychotherapy as a collective process between client and therapist.
. . . . discover the real connections in your life; the opportunities for you to become a stronger, healthier, more virtuous person; how well you relate to self, others, and the world; and how you can be THE agent in all you think, feel, and do.

While I value the exploration of our motives, wishes, desires, hopes, and fears, and while I am very much a relationally-based clinician, I like to be practical and focus on the "now what?" of people's issues. Together we get to discover "the way."
