Something to know about my approach is:

I focus on the use of CBT so that my patient can change a negative pattern of thought that prevents joy. DBT is also utilized in therapy. Client-Centered is always a must in therapy in my opinion.

Information gathering and clinical background will be included in the initial session. You will be asked for your reasons for therapy and will be asked to set two-three therapy goals after the initial assessment session.

I have a strong background in working with foster care and adoption issues. A hurtful past cannot change, but moving through fear and hurt leads to acceptance, and then peace becomes evident.

It has been important for me to work in an area that assists with emotional and spiritual growth, and that continues to be my goal today.

I became a Licensed Professional Counselor in 2001. I am currently licensed in Alabama and Georgia (inactive at present in Georgia) and am a board-certified supervisor for those wishing to become licensed counselors.
