Some common themes that arise in my work include: identifying and challenging patterns of avoidance, examining and reframing negative self-beliefs, establishing key goals and committing to them, clarifying life aspirations, processing trauma and grief, repairing trust and connection, and changing behaviors that are unaligned to one's values.

Most likely, we will start with talk therapy, giving you the chance to unpack and settle into this work and relationship, and clarify your goals and intentions for therapy. Gradually, we may begin to work on goal-setting, narrative shifting, reframing unhelpful beliefs, confronting important relationship challenges, and processing painful experiences.

My clients would describe me as an attentive, unbiased, intuitive, direct, well-versed in the evidence-based as well as the experimental, flexible, pragmatic, kind, and friendly.

Some areas of specialization include: parenting, fatherhood, men's issues, spirituality/purpose, religious trauma, and recovery from high-demand groups.

I spent seven of my most formative years living in Buddhist monasteries, where I was ordained as a monk and received training in meditation practice, spiritual counseling, and Buddhist ethics. I also have received training in chaplaincy and grief counseling, and have hospice social work experience.
