Next we will move into exploring what you need to move through the struggles, i.e. overthinking, trauma and stress, feeling intense anger or anxiety, isolating yourself from others. Finally I'll support you as you practice caring for yourself and connecting with others.

A compassionate person who helps people feel at ease and comfortable talking about difficult topics. My office is full of things that bring me joy: sunlight, plants, bright colors and art. I try to balance helping you feel seen and heard, while being a supportive push for you to change the things you want to be different in your life.

Are teens and young adults with big hearts who hide their struggles and emotions and feel like they aren't living up to the goals they have for themselves. They are overwhelmed with racing thoughts and question their decisions and behaviors. They want to feel more connected and meet people but struggle to feel confident being themselves around others.

I enjoy connecting and supporting people one on one and wanted to create a space where people feel comfortable opening up and being themselves. What I love most about being a therapist is learning about peoples' passions and interests, exploring what makes each person unique, and celebrating our similarities and differences.

I have a passion for working with teens and young adults who are navigating difficult times. I have worked in outpatient clinics and schools since 2012 and opened up my own practice, Encourage Joy Therapy in 2024. I grew up in small town in Iowa but have called Des Moines home for the last several years. I knit and am a fan of the Heartstopper series.
