I go beyond the surface to explore thoughts, feelings, and memories that you have long suppressed. I will gently but firmly challenge you to decrease your avoidance and face the guilt, shame, fear, and even anger that has not been allowed a space. We will explore attachment patterns, overall balance in your life, and any other area that feels meaningful.

Address people pleasing, perfectionism, boundaries and relationships. We will help you find your voice and identify and assert your wants, needs, and preferences. We will quiet the dialogue in your head allowing you to be more present and connected. You will leave sessions feeling calmer and with the insight and confidence you need to start making changes.

Laid back yet direct. I often hear the feedback that I don't let people "Get away" with surface answers or avoidance and allow them a space to feel vulnerable without being judged. Clients often express feeling heard and that they like the questions they are asked that challenge them to think deeper. Relaxed and comfortable are descriptors about our sessions

Are new to therapy or have had not-so-great experiences in the past. Clients often tell me that my relaxed style and sense of humor make it easier for them to get beyond defense mechanisms (Humor, Deflection, Avoidance) and to the core of deep issues. Personally and professionally you can be the version of yourself that has been waiting to come out.

I love that I get to combine my love for science and research with the ability to connect to other people on a genuine, vulnerable level. Mental health is complex and the blend of both art and science, empathy and academia, is a great match to my personality and approach. A love of listening and learning is necessary to being a good therapist and person.

I have been a therapist since 2008 in many settings and several states. I try to be my most genuine self and that looks direct and honest with a dose of sarcasm. Pets and coffee welcome onscreen.
