From there we look hard at what's actually happening in your communication, your relationships and the patterns you may not have named yet. I ask a lot of questions. The point isn't insight for its own sake, it's leaving with something you can use this week.

Steady, and honest with them even when it would be easier not to be. Parents tell me I say the thing they were already thinking but hadn't said out loud. Kids tell me I don't talk down to them. What people take from the room is that they can bring the unflattering version of a story here and have it met plainly, without a flinch and without a lecture.

I see children for anxiety, ADHD, behavioral and self-esteem issues, family problems, trauma and grief. With adults I specialize in treating anxiety, depression, relationship issues, parenting challenges and insomnia/sleep disorders using CBTi.

I started out wanting better conversations between medical providers and their patients. Too often the person in the exam room understood their diagnosis and still had no idea how to live with it. That gap pulled me into this work. I still think the most useful hour is the one where someone finally says the hard thing out loud and finds it's workable.
