I try to make my clients feel comfortable. I want them to address what is on their mind and usually allow them to steer the direction of the session.
I use an eclectic approach to therapy which varies from client to client. I use a strengths-based approach to assist clients in recognizing and utilizing their own capabilities to make changes. I am non-judgmental and an active listener.
Clients know why they are seeking therapy. I am always willing to assist them in setting goals, but I want the goals set to be something that is meaningful to them.
I work with many different issues including depression, anxiety, adjustment disorders, family issues, personality disorders, PTSD, and psychosis.
I wanted to be a therapist since I was in junior high. I like people and wanted an occupation where I could help others.
