I don't think you need fixing. Most people who come to me are carrying something heavy and have run out of places to set it down. My job is to be steady while you sort through it, not to hand you a plan on day one. I've been doing this work for over 25 years, and what people need most is usually room to think out loud without being judged.

start with what's actually weighing on you right now, not a list of goals that sound good on paper. We'll figure out what you've already tried, what's worn you out, and what feeling better would really look like for you. From there we move at your pace and adjust as things shift, until what felt unmanageable starts to feel workable.

warm, direct, and hard to shock. Twenty-five years in this field means very little surprises me, which seems to make it easier for people to finally say the thing they've been circling for weeks. Steady is the word that comes up most. I don't rush people, and I don't fill a silence just to fill it.

Many are in their twenties, sorting out identity, work, and independence all at once. Others are further along and finding that what used to work for them doesn't anymore.

I spent my first career performing in dance and theatre in New York. What stayed with me was not the stage. It was watching what people were willing to show each other once they felt safe enough. I wanted work where that was the point rather than a side effect.

I see adults throughout Pennsylvania by secure video through Darin King Counseling, so sessions fit around work and family without a commute. We're in network with UPMC, Highmark Blue Cross Blue Shield, Aetna, Cigna, and United Healthcare/Optum, and self-pay is available. I earned my MS in Counseling at California University of Pennsylvania.
