Anna Beth Reid

My approach is founded in cognitive (thoughts), mindfulness (be here now), and somatic (body-based) approaches. I help clients work through unhelpful negative thought patterns, learn skills to reconnect to their bodies, and focus on their personal values. I incorporate movement in treatment, and offer a unique modality: trauma-informed self-defense.

We will walk together to overcome trauma from abuse, and help you make the best decisions for YOU about your fertility, pregnancy, and postpartum journeys. You deserve support in the tough parts of life, and a place to celebrate the wins. I'll be here for you with all of it.

Client's would describe me as warm, empathic, and human. I'm not a blank slate therapist. I will be real with you, while also holding space for your pain with a caring heart and open mind. I love animals, reading fantasy novels, and outdoor adventures.

My specialties are trauma recovery from intimate partner violence, sexual assault, childhood abuse and neglect. I have advanced training in perinatal (pregnancy and postpartum) mental health, and fertility counseling.

Like most therapists, my own life experiences called me to this profession. Personal experiences with anxiety and depression, self-esteem struggles, family conflict, and infertility have given me a foundation of compassion and a desire to see others heal and thrive, as I have.

I do not accept insurance at this time, but can provide a superbill for clients who wish to be reimbursed by their insurance. In person sessions are currently "walk and talk", meaning we will meet at a park and walk (or sit) while we talk. When my office is ready, I will move to in-office sessions as well. I see clients in the Kerrville/Bandera/Boerne area
