I use trauma-informed, evidence-based techniques, like cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), which helps identify and modify unhelpful thought patterns. Other approaches I integrate are acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), existential-humanistic therapy, and narrative therapy.

I started working in the field with autistic adults, then later adolescents with co-occurring mental health and addiction issues. I loved it, so I went to graduate school for clinical social work. I worked in various settings over the years, including hospitals and schools, and started my private psychotherapy practice, Black Sheep Counseling in 2022.
