My clients describe me as:
I am down-to-earth, humorous, collaborative, and affirming. I have a warm and conversational approach- I am definitely not a "blank slate" therapist!
Something to know about my approach is:
I use evidence-based techniques, like cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), which helps identify and modify unhelpful thought patterns. Other approaches are acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), existential-humanistic therapy, and narrative therapy.
Together, we will:
Are you a "black sheep"- different, neurodivergent, unconventional, an outsider, quirky, on the edge, or a bit rebellious? Or did you follow a direct route in the past, and now find yourself in transition? I am here to guide you on your unique path.
I specialize in working with people who:
I provide a safe, compassionate space for you to explore your challenges, uncover your strengths, and create meaningful change. Areas of interest include ADHD, mood disorders, anxiety, life transitions, and communication issues.
I became a therapist because:
I started working in the field with autistic adults, then with dually-diagnosed adolescents. I loved the work so I went to graduate school!
Something that stands out about where I offer therapy is:
During the pandemic, telehealth became normalized, and I greatly appreciate the increased access and convenience it has brought to people.
