Allison Ussery

My academic and clinical background is specialized in working with the queer and poly community. Growing up in a low income diversely populated area drives me to be passionate about offering support to those dealing with racialized trauma and complex identities. I also offer single session therapy for focused problem-solving and processing.

We will explore how your unique identities intersect with your mental health. We will collaborate making a space where you feel empowered to navigate your life in a way that benefits what you find the most important. We will move from coping to actively reshaping your relationship with yourself and the world around you.

I'm Allison, your practical and philosophical GPS, to reroute as needed. My practice is built on existential, gestalt, and relational approaches, prioritizing social justice and equitable care for marginalized and stigmatized communities. I have a strong track record of excellent care for individuals and couples from all walks of life.

I've worked mostly with individuals and relationships who are part of the LGBTQIA+ or BIPOC communities, navigating polyamory or ethical non-monogamy (ENM), or exploring your gender-fluid or non-binary identity. I specialize in helping those who straddle many worlds and identities.

I lived in a low income, diverse community. I sat with my friends who felt discrimination and it brought about questions that therapy at the time couldn't answer or help with. My goal is to fill that gap. Trauma and navigating a harsh and unforgiving world makes us question our life and identity. I strive to cocreate answers with my community.

My joy comes from working with those who are different from me to learn from you as much as you learn about yourself in therapy. I believe in equity and decolonization. I believe in honoring your experience. Some parts of your life might be difficult or feel shameful to bring to light. Come as you are, all are welcome.
