My clients describe me as creative and collaborative in meeting them where they are to create safety in non-traditional circumstances and lifestyles.
My approach is growth-oriented and client-centered. I tailor my approach to meet each client's specific/unique needs– ultimately focusing on identifying the unmet needs and growth areas to help clients acquire skills to become their desired selves.
I collaborate with clients to identify goals, understand their motivation, and develop a client-centered plan– using a multi-dimensional approach that includes solution-focused, narrative reframing, psychodynamic, and cognitive behavioral therapy.
I typically work with individuals and couples who span ethnic and cultural backgrounds, are new to therapy, have encountered past turbulent therapy experiences, and whose identities are not often represented in therapeutic spaces.
I understand that all behavior serves a purpose– conscious & unconscious. I aspire to help folx understand their behavior and establish coping skills.
Through my experiences, I have learned that suffering is unnecessary and, when possible, should be avoided using healthy coping skills.
My communication style with clients is very humanistic; I aim to communicate as people working collaboratively to meet specified goals. My direct communication style leaves space for gentle correction and adaptability when needed.
