Through a collaborative therapeutic relationship, where safety in the freedom of expression is facilitated, powerful emotions and distressing experiences can begin to be put into words. When fully understood, painful psychological symptoms can transform and there can be lasting and meaningful changes. This increases your ability to live fully.

I believe that each person is different, and so each treatment must creatively attend to and evolve with these differences. I view people’s struggles as learned adaptations to survive in an imperfect world, rather than personal weakness or sickness – as such, psychological symptoms hold meaning and are communicating something that can be understood.

People who work with me appreciate my willingness to collaboratively reflect on the unfolding therapy process, share what’s on my mind, and position myself as an open and non-judgmental co-investigator, rather than the authority in the room.

I have experience working in outpatient community health, long-term residential, and inpatient hospital settings. I work with people who are looking to get to the roots of their distress and suffering. This can take the form of a variety of issues, including depression, anxiety, trauma, relationship problems, grief, etc.
