My approach is to learn as much about you as possible in order to determine which treatment approach will work best for you. This approach can and will be modified as needed once I learn more about you, and based on your progress in treatment.

We will work together on your healing journey, with me as your guide and with you doing the "heavy lifting." Long-lasting positive improvements and changes in your life can only occur with your commitment to the process.

My clients describe me as caring, warm, open, nurturing, insightful, knowledgeable, encouraging, and amusing. I am less about telling clients what to do and more about connecting with them on a deeper level, coupled with recommending strategies that they can use.

I specialize in working with people who are generally functioning well in most areas of life. However, they may want to delve deeper into unresolved childhood trauma, relationship issues, resolve a current crisis, or prevent a future crisis.

As a person of color, I became a therapist because I wanted to help other people of color who may feel more at ease with someone who looks like them and who can relate to their experiences. I also wanted to lessen the stigma of seeking psychotherapy that is far too prevalent in certain communities of color.
