I take some time to get to know what's bringing you to therapy. (Are you in crisis? Want to take your time to get to know the various parts of your psyche? Do you need ERP for OCD? Do you need to identify feelings before they build up and you explode?) From there, we co-create a plan to bring you closer to a sense of wellbeing, however you define that.

Clarify your goals and hopes as well as your barriers, both internal and external. We'll build a relationship together where you feel safe sharing whatever hard things you're carrying, some which you might not have shared because of shame or hopelessness. We'll work together to make sure we're addressing your needs and readjust when necessary.

Warm, direct, funny. I've asked clients what about me and my approach they find most helpful, and the most common response is "you make me feel like I'm not crazy," which I translate to mean that I normalize that being a human is hard. My own sense of my strengths: untangling stuck, confusing, or shameful thoughts; metaphors; balancing empathy with action.
