Somewhere along the way you were supposed to work out who you are, what you want, and how to be an adult about it. Nobody hands you that. I have done this for a long time and I still find it the most interesting problem there is. Expect real conversation, some humor, and no rush toward an answer you have not reached yet.

Explore who you are and who you want to become. We will build resilience where it has worn thin, put words to patterns you have carried without naming, and turn that into decisions you actually make rather than ones that happen to you. What I want is for you to be able to do this without me, not to need me indefinitely.

Friendly and laid-back. They tell me I am a good listener, and that I know when humor helps and when it would land wrong. I am not a therapist who sits behind a wall of professionalism. You get a real person who takes what you bring seriously without making the hour heavier than it already is.

Are working out identity, independence, anxiety, depression, stress, relationships, career uncertainty, or what they actually want their life to look like. Young adults are the bulk of my practice, and the same questions turn up at forty and at sixty, often with more riding on them. I am glad to see any of it.

I wanted to help people recognize their own worth, value and potential, which nearly all of us are worse at seeing in ourselves than in anyone else. Connection and steady guidance do more of that than advice ever has. Watching someone stop arguing with their own worth is still the part of this I look forward to.

I hold a Master's in Social Work from The Ohio State University and I am licensed as an independent social worker in Ohio. I work from CBT, DBT, ACT, solution-focused therapy and motivational interviewing, and I choose between them based on you rather than out of habit. You do not need to know which one you want.
