I am a "relational" therapist, which means that I focus first on building trust, confidence, and rapport in the therapeutic relationship. As far as techniques, I use EMDR (which is integrative and incorporates many types of therapy), specifically Flash EMDR (it's really cool! I'd love to tell you about it!), and Trauma-Informed Stabilization Treatment.

I work the best with people who have been to therapy before but want someone to "take you deeper," and work on the core issues affecting you, the old and deep stuff, not just the "problem of the week" issues. I help people discover how they survived difficult situations in the past, but how those same survival behaviors are now interfering with daily life.

I try to make each person I work with feel like they matter, because each of you do, and I remember most things you tell me. People who work with me typically describe me as supportive, direct, relaxed, and empathetic.
