Flexible times, usually between 10-3 weekdays and occasional weekends
My clients describe me as:
open, accepting, authentic, attentive, patient, self-aware, non-judgmental, empathetic, and appreciative of diversity.
Something to know about my approach is:
My main goal is to help you increase your psychological flexibility so that you can begin to unhook from unhelpful thoughts and feelings that get in the way of what matters to you.
Together, we will:
discuss anything you like, including whatever is important to you, past and more recent traumas, your own insights into behaviors you want to change, and your hopes for the future.
I specialize in working with people who:
are struggling with identity issues (especially relating to gender and other life transitions, and/or religion) and who are willing to practice new skills between sessions.
I became a therapist because:
One of my precious daughters died in 2015. As a result of this experience, I became a therapist to support others with their own transitions.
Something that stands out about where I offer therapy is:
Due to COVID-19, I gave up my office and I only have access to an office on Mondays. Apart from that, I am only available through teletherapy.
More about me and my practice:
My journey as a therapist is the result of almost 20 years of work as a student and university professor. I have a master’s (2002) and Ph.D. (2012) in Religious Studies and care about people's religious experiences--especially traumatic ones.
