My clients describe me as:
Safe, nonjudgmental, professional, funny. She makes you feel comfortable immediately and emphasizes the importance of the therapeutic relationship
Something to know about my approach is:
Alana approaches therapy with curiosity, seeking to fully understand and for the client to feel fully understood. Alana uses CBT/DBT, mindfulness/meditation, and psychoanalysis. In addition, TFCBT, Gottman, Family System, ERP, and Brainspotting.
Together, we will:
Client's will have a space to bring their burdens and set them down for a bit. They will explore the roots of current behavior patterns and familial cycles that create distress. Client's will learn skills to manage life and previous experiences.
I specialize in working with people who:
Individuals, couples, and families. Depression, Anxiety, Trauma, OCD, Life Transitions, Stress, Divorce, Pregnancy and Postpartum, Family Conflict, DV, Parenting, Relationship Issues, LGBTQ, and grief.
I became a therapist because:
Lived experiences created an intense need to understand why people treat each other in ways that cause trauma. Also, to end dysfunctional cycles.
Something that stands out about where I offer therapy is:
The search is not just about finding a GOOD therapist, but rather one that best fits YOU. I adapt my support and processes to meet your needs.
More about me and my practice:
The first session with you is very important to Alana as it is the "first impression" and a great opportunity to build rapport and give you a glimpse of my personality and what to expect in sessions.
