Support in mastering one's own mind versus letting the mind master us is helpful across a spectrum of issues. This involves learning to quiet the mind, then utilizing it to enhance inner peace. This takes practice and increased self-awareness.

I often favor Internal Family Systems as a modality which can be utilized for any "part" of us which is causing problems ,i e. anger, shame, sadness, or self-doubt for instance. The process involves guided inner dialogue with the conflictual part.

I am interested in any clients committed to the excitement of self-growth, such as identifying dysfunctional, repetitive patterns and taking responsibility for changing these outmoded scripts in a playful, interactive, collaborative style.

More about me and my practice:

I have years of background as a psychiatric nurse prior to becoming a counselor. I believe that the knee-jerk reaction to offer medication as a first resort often excludes exploring the client's own inner resources for healing that may be successful.
