My clients describe me as:
consistent, patient, and honest. I'm here until you meet your goals; however, I want to ensure that we remain steadfast in our focus on your growth.
Something to know about my approach is:
I provide evidence-based treatment, which is shown to be effective (via clinical trials). I am trained and proficient in cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT). In CBT, we work to understand how our thoughts, emotions, and behaviors are all intertwined.
Together, we will:
I'm open to discussing any topics in therapy (with a goal in mind). We are working to get to a point at which you have the skill set to think accurately/functionally. If you can then act on those cognitions/emotions, you've made significant progress.
I specialize in working with people who:
I am a generalist psychologist, but my postdoctoral fellowship focused on the assessment and treatment of PTSD and trauma-related disorders. I am trained in and provide Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) and Prolonged Exposure (PE).
I became a therapist because:
I enjoyed my first psychology course in college. I then came to realize I have a profound interest in understanding the mind and human behavior.
Something that stands out about where I offer therapy is:
I was raised in Georgia. I value that I work in the area in which I grew up; I hope to support this community for the remainder of my career.
More about me and my practice:
I've worked in Veterans Affairs, in private practices, and as a clinic director of more than 100 clinicians. After these experiences, I determined I was ready to open my own private practice, Roswell Psychology. Thus, I truly value this opportunity.
