My clients describe me as:
a good listener, curious, calm, fun, and creative. I use a psychodynamic approach, an in-depth kind of talk therapy, as well as play therapy.
Something to know about my approach is:
imagination is an invaluable part of therapy, whether you are a child or an adult. I currently run the Fellowship, City Counseling Center’s therapeutic Dungeons and Dragons group for children ages 9 to 13. I work with adults, teens, and kids.
Together, we will:
create a safe and non-judgmental space where you are free to explore your inner world. We will work to understand your experiences--your difficulties, fears, desires, dreams, and fantasies. Together we will increase your ability to adapt.
I specialize in working with people who:
identify as male, especially who are struggling with social isolation, loneliness, depression, and anxiety. Many of my clients feel as if they have lost a meaningful connection with themselves or others, and we work to restore those relationships.
I became a therapist because:
I enjoy creating space for others to unpack and process their own experiences. I am passionate about seeing clients embrace their full, true selves
Something that stands out about where I offer therapy is:
we have lots of toys available for children doing play therapy and fidgets for adults who need something to hold. We also have free parking.
More about me and my practice:
I am a graduate of the University of Chicago (B.A. sociology) and the Institute for Clinical Social Work (M.A. clinical counseling). Before working as a therapist, I was a writer and curriculum designer for the Escoffier School of Culinary Arts.
