About Me:

  • My clients describe me as:

warm, supportive, approachable, genuine, knowledgeable [photo credit: Rob Ferrell]

  • Something to know about my approach is:

I use strategies that have been shown to work, to help adults struggling with stress, depression, and making changes in their lives, such as Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and compassion-based techniques.

  • Together, we will:

figure out what your goals are and develop a plan for working toward them. We will start with things that have been shown to work, through research, but we will keep an eye on what does and doesn't work for you, and will adjust as necessary.

  • I specialize in working with people who:

themselves work to make the world a better and more just place, either through their job (e.g., helping profession, public service, non-profit work) or outside of work. This work is associated with many challenges, which I can help you navigate.

  • I became a therapist because:

I am committed to reducing suffering whenever possible and to supporting those who are struggling, however I can.

  • Something that stands out about where I offer therapy is:

I am currently offering therapy via (HIPAA-compliant) Zoom only. I am licensed in Maryland and can work with clients who are anywhere in Maryland.

  • More about me and my practice:

Part of my role is to encourage empathy, compassion and understanding for self and others, particularly those who are oppressed or marginalized. I am an advocate for social justice and will address these issues in therapy when they come up.
