My clients would say they feel comfortable and "at ease" after first meeting me. They have shared they feel seen and heard which I value and cherish.
Clients will understand anxiety and its different forms, the magnitude of its presence, ways it impacts the body and mind, change their responses to anxiety, and discover healthy ways to talk to it.
We will discuss common patterns in thinking that lead to certain feelings and behaviors that may give you a false sense of safety. While we may not dwell in the past, it will be helpful to discuss the roots of how these thoughts impact you now.
Clients come to me because they fear being judged, have difficulty setting boundaries, have strong anger responses because they feel overwhelmed, and relaxing makes them feel guilty. With control, they improve their relationships with themselves.
After finding a therapist long ago, I recognized the value of therapy and experienced a transformation which I hope my clients can discover.
I believe we are a work in progress. My personal belief is that mental health issues develop due to society's box. Many individuals can be freed from these expectations if they can find their voice, sit with discomfort and express it with meaning.
