Office hours: Monday - Thursday 6 am - 12 pm
My clients describe me as:
I’m an approachable therapist for people raised religious or abuse survivors who feel like they’re lost or missing a life road map without religion.
Something to know about my approach is:
I use trauma therapy with millennials, older adults, LGBTQ+, and others who come from controlling and manipulative communities (i.e. JW, LDS, Evangelical, 12 Tribes, yoga) who have survived religious trauma, guilt and shame, and the fear of failure.
Together, we will:
Together we can untangle the shame, fear, and anger you feel after leaving a toxic, fundamentalist, or cult-like religious community. You deserve to feel free to love who you want, set better boundaries, and build a new relationship with yourself.
I specialize in working with people who:
If you’ve been called a “sinner” or a “heretic” or you’ve left a religious or spiritual community and thought, “that was pretty culty,” then you’re in the right place. I get it because I’ve been called those things too.
I became a therapist because:
I go by the Theology Therapist because my recovery from fundamentalist Christianity led me to religious studies, yoga, and meditation.
Something that stands out about where I offer therapy is:
My virtual office is a comfy space filled with books, blankets, and cushions. I’ll probably have tea or coffee in hand, I invite you to do the same.
More about me and my practice:
I like to challenge toxic religious beliefs that you are bad or unlovable or that someone else is the expert on you. You deserve to live free of fear and shame with a spiritual life, if that’s something you desire, that gives you purpose and meaning.
