Alex Montes, Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker/Therapist
Provides therapy in Minnesota
OFFERS REMOTE THERAPY
ACCEPTING NEW CLIENTS
My clients describe me as:
a Mixed Race, Mexican, Second Generation immigrant, Queer, Cisgender Femme. My approach is somatic, intersectional, and collaborative.
Something to know about my approach is:
We will work to integrate care for your body's inherent ability and desire to heal, change and learn to have a deeper and more fulfilling life and relationships. I hope to offer you a soft space to land and feel held as you start your process.
Together, we will:
increase trust for yourself, create trusting and reciprocal relationships, care for trauma, generational trauma, bring awareness of fight/flight/freeze patterns, feel grounded in your identities, and improve your relationship with your body and food
I specialize in working with people who:
Want to work on their traumas, increase satisfaction and groundedness in their relationships, explore family histories, repair their relationship with their body, and want to work with someone with similar identities.
I became a therapist because:
When I was young I did not have access to the support of a therapist who understood my intersections and I wanted to become that for others.
Something that stands out about where I offer therapy is:
I work to integrate the bodys language and the brains language in session to deepen understanding of our lived experiences
