Compassionate and down-to-earth. I'm encouraging and supportive without being a Pollyanna; when a situation sucks, I won't pretend it doesn't.
I approach the grieving process from two, combined angles. One is helping you with the emotions related to the loss itself. The other is supporting you as you adjust and rebuild your life in the wake of your loss.
Discuss the source of your grief and process the emotions--positive, negative, and everything in-between--that grief entails. We will also identify the areas of you life most destabilized by loss and make a plan for rebuilding them.
Feel overwhelmed, frustrated, exhausted, or off-kilter due to a loss. While the loss is most commonly a death, it can also be related to the end of a relationship or a role (like a job) that has set off a grieving process.
I have over a decade of providing direct support to teens and young adults, so if you're looking for a grief counselor for a young person in your life (or you're a young adult looking for support), I think we'd be a good match.
