About Me:

  • My clients describe me as:

Caring, honest, warm, genuine, helpful, and invested. Encouraging of clients in a supportive manner to adopt new ways of thinking and feeling.

  • Something to know about my approach is:

Always striving to provide the most evidence based and collaborative treatment. The client is a major decision maker in their treatment; you are the expert on you and I am an expert in the treatments. Everything we do will be mutually decided on.

  • Together, we will:

Use evidence-based treatment to categorize, understand, define, and address any symptoms or problems you are facing currently. With your permission, we will include any aspect of your identity/self that is important to you in our work together.

  • I specialize in working with people who:

have experienced traumatic events, and are experiencing difficulties in any aspect of their lives, whether it's PTSD, depression, anger issues, relationship struggles, anxiety, and others.

  • I became a therapist because:

I want to provide people, who look like me and have similar life experiences, a therapist who truly gets it and understands them.

  • Something that stands out about where I offer therapy is:

Telehealth across the state of Texas, and soon in other states as well due to the the PSY-PACT agreements. Stay tuned!

  • More about me and my practice:

The word Sakinah in the Arabic language translates to tranquility and inner peace. I chose this word as a name for my practice because it encompasses the goal I strive to help everyone achieve: a feeling of contentment and peace in this life.
