My clients describe me as:
Caring yet laid back. An excellent listener. Authentic and trustworthy. Straight forward. A different and refreshing experience.
Something to know about my approach is:
I follow the tenants of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy as the core of my client work. That means we don’t try to make the symptoms go away. Instead, we make space for them, listen to them, and work on living excellently even when they appear.
Together, we will:
Build a trusting relationship and take a walk through your experience of the world. Along the way we will find thoughts, feelings, experiences etc. that hook you and pull you into an unhelpful behavior cycle. Then we work to change it.
I specialize in working with people who:
Have tried therapy before and are feeling frustrated; Are Therapists or Healthcare Providers; Have tried to "get rid of" symptoms of anxiety/ depression etc. and found that those symptoms still come back and run your life.
I became a therapist because:
I saw a lot of people suffering around me and realized I was suffering to. I wanted to help people who felt hopeless find the light.
Something that stands out about where I offer therapy is:
Church & State is such a cool place. It's an old converted church with an aesthetic that is inviting to artists and change-makers. I like that.
More about me and my practice:
We don't accept insurance and understand that puts an extra burden on our clients. There are a lot of reasons for this but they all boil down to making this a high-quality and confidential experience that is not dictated by an insurance agent.
