My clients describe me as:
Queer and affirming, a person who believes in your ability to be happy, and who will work with you to figure out how to get there.
Something to know about my approach is:
I am kind, quiet, and very good with silences. I am affirming, encouraging, and believe every client has strengths they can bring to the process. I strive to create a safe, honest, and ethical space for people to be vulnerable.
Together, we will:
I work with mental health challenges at the unique intersections that are part of the LGBTQ+ identity. I specialize in identity, gender, and sexuality, but I also bring a queer lens to everyday struggles with anxiety, grief, and depression.
I specialize in working with people who:
I am queer—trans and nonbinary—and am good at viewing issues through a queer lens. I’m old(er), and have a wealth of experiences to draw on, I work with adults and young adults. I am a parent, and work with parents and teens, or parents alone.
I became a therapist because:
I had a difficult time finding a therapist who didn't need me to explain what it meant to be queer. I wanted to offer that space.
Something that stands out about where I offer therapy is:
I practice in Downtown Overland Park, and have off-street parking available! Easy access from a lot of locations in the KC Metro.
More about me and my practice:
My practice is called Hopepunk Therapy because I hold people gently, but also fiercely. You are capable of so many things! I believe that, and hope to give you a space to explore, learn, and build the tools you need to be happier.
