My clients tell me I am empathetic, non-judgmental, a good listener and effective in helping them.
I work collaboratively with my clients. I will listen with empathy and non-judgment. I work with my clients to find the best way forward for them. I consider my clients the experts on themselves. My job is to help facilitate growth in my clients.
In my experience, clients want to be heard, and understood. Clients talk about their worries and their sadness. Clients want to resolve unfinished business in their lives, mostly having to do with past traumas, and unresolved, lingering issues.
I specialize in helping people resolve past trauma, anxiety and depression. I also work with couples looking for help with their relationships. There is no one size fits all model of psychotherapy, so I work with my clients to find the best fit.
I became a therapist later in my life having witnessed a great deal of suffering, and I know therapy works. I want to contribute to other's success.
My becoming a therapist did not follow a traditional path. In addition to my education and training, I bring a depth of life experience to my practice
Research has demonstrated that the most important factor in successful therapy is the therapist-client relationship, more so than any form of psychotherapy. I strive to earn the trust of my clients and form a health and strong therapeutic alliance.
