I approach therapy through a non-pathologizing, trauma-informed, and harm reduction lens and understand that the client is the expert of their own experience. I view the clinical relationship as a tool for healing.
Your good days, your bad days, your even worst days... and all of the ordinary days in between, let's chat about them. Life is hard, being a human can be really hard - but we don't always need to be suffering. Let's work together to better your days

You will feel safe, comfortable and heard when you are in session. Not all sessions will be easy, I know that this is hard for you - but before you know it, you'll find yourself smiling more often than before. I am here to support AND challenge you!
Hopefully talk, maybe practice some new skills, maybe meditate, hopefully dig deep (if that’s where we need to go, but generally not right away), generally we will problem solve and explore options you are willing and able to try out.

I believe in an integrative approach, that is, there are good parts to many therapy approaches, and everyone is different. So I try and cater my approach on a personal basis.
I often work to help clients change their relationship with their emotions from one of avoidance to acceptance. Using an attachment lens, I see value in attending to emotional injuries while also attending to the influence of early experiences.

I strive to be culturally responsive in my work, and place a great emphasis on developing a strong, authentic connection with my clients. I highly value collaboration and believe treatment should ultimately be adapted for each unique individual.
I ask clients, “if you had a magic wand how would you use it to change your life?” Responses highlight the gap between what men want and what they have. I help you navigate this gap by identifying/addressing barriers to creating the life you want.

I'm committed to the mental health and general wellness of Black men. This approach, along with my formal training and lived experience, arms me with the ability to meet Black men where they are and help navigate them toward their desired goals.
