Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness Month

October can be a tough time for many who have lost their baby. If you or someone you know has lost a child at any time during pregnancy or infancy, help join and support to raise awareness for Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness Month. In 1988, president Ronald Reagan assigned October as a month. This month is to honor the parents who have lost their child and to show support to those who have suffered from a tragic loss. Showing awareness for pregnancy and infant loss helps to give grieving families understanding and support. Star Legacy’s October #NeverBeStill campaign seeks to break the silence surrounding stillbirth and other pregnancy/infant losses by not only educating the public about ways to support bereaved families but also empowering expectant mothers to have a healthy pregnancy – because every pregnancy deserves a happy ending (Awareness month, 2022)!

Show Support

There are many ways to support those who have suffered from such a tragic loss. ● Ask your town to proclaim October 15th Pregnancy & Infant Loss Awareness Day. ● Make sure your local hospital/doctors (and anyone else in your community who interacts

with expectant mothers!) are familiar with our resources for families and providers. ● Perform an Act of Kindness in memory of a baby gone too soon.

● Send a letter to your elected officials urging them to support legislation and policies designed to prevent stillbirth and other poor outcomes and provide improved support for families.

● Share our #NeverBeStill posts on social media.
