Talk about your relationships with others and how your mental health has been impacted by these relationships, work or school stress, balancing life and responsibilities, and your general mental health and well-being.
I work with teens and adults who are external processors and find it helpful to talk out loud to help uncover patterns and feel less stressed. Those who do not want to burden friends or family with their "problems" often enjoy working with me.
Together we will create an individualized plan that includes your goals and vision for the future. We will identify and address any barriers that might be getting in the way of you living a life filled with hope and joy.
I want to provide a supportive, accepting environment that is most conducive toward change. I utilize a combination of approaches that may include cognitive behavioral strategies (CBT), EMDR, ACT and family systems. We will find the best path.
Work to help you let go of old fears or conditioning that hold you back from feeling truly comfortable with yourself. We'll identify subtle sources of self-judgment that create suffering for you, and work to heal these on a deep level.
I'll create an experience and space that is safe for you. I'll help you let go of old fears or conditioning from the culture that hold you back from feeling worthy. I do NOT focus on, 'What is wrong with you?' I ask, 'What has happened to you?'
We will collaborate to identify your main goals for our time together, and periodically thereafter we'll check in to celebrate progress and identify any challenges or roadblocks. We may also change or add new goals as we go along.
I blend diverse therapeutic methods, tailored to your unique journey. This may involve mindfulness, Eastern philosophy, reiki energy support, CBT, Gottman therapy, IFS, creative arts expression, and the principles of non-violent communication.
Initially, we'll get to know each other to determine if we're a good fit. From there, we can decide the best treatment approach to aid in your growth and development, and set a plan to provide therapy to best meet your needs.
My theoretical preference is eclectic, as I use bits and pieces from several forms of therapy (CBT, DBT, Reality Therapy, and Experiential Therapy). I tailor my approach to fit the attitudes, goals, and preferences of those I serve.
