My experience in the Chicago-land area included work in Non-Profits, Hospitals, & Wilderness Programs before establishing WillisCC. I specialized with high risk adolescents addressing self-injury, gang involvement and drug use.
From the first session I get to know the client and gain an understanding of their concerns and their goals for therapy. We will work together to develop a treatment plan to achieve one's goals. We will develop a working relationship, based on trust.

Counseling is an individualized journey. The client drives the direction and I provide support and guidance. I assist the clients in setting short-term goals that help them achieve their long-term goals.
Initially we will spend some time getting to know each other and understanding of what brings you in to therapy. We can then discuss a goal for therapy and develop a plan to achieve the changes you want to make.

My approach is not a one size fits all so I tend to use skills from counseling methods that research suggests will work best given the particular challenge a person is experiencing
